The Central Coast region received nearly 3.9 million domestic daytrip visitors in 2018. The Norah Head Lighthouse Reserve plays a significant role as an iconic Tourism Destination attraction on the Central Coast. The Lighthouse also continues to assist in the protection of the NSW coastline and is even now the source for the Bureau of Meteorology. As a result, the Reserve is an incredibly busy and exciting hub to meet interesting and diverse people, make new friends and gain new experiences.

Led by the Reserve Land Manager Board, the dedicated group of Volunteers are always looking for support and a fresh approach to its day to day running and overall longevity in keeping the historic presence at its best. A variety of roles are provided by Volunteer positions. With the increasing number of Visitors arriving to view the Light Tower and Reserve, the Board are always looking to expand the team members further.

The Volunteers roles are varied. These include:

  • Coast care
  • Maintenance
  • Tour desk
  • Tour guides

Perhaps you are now retired and looking to give something back to our community, please fill in the form below and the Board will be in contact with you. Volunteer induction and role specific training will be provided to successful applicants.

The Norah Head Lighthouse Reserve Land Manager Board supports Police and Working with Children Checks. Depending on the type of volunteering role, not-for-profit organisation may ask you to undergo a police check and/or a working with children check. These are generally required if you will be working with people who are vulnerable, such as the frail aged, people living with disability and children. A criminal record will not automatically disqualify you from volunteering.
